Family to Family Denver evolved from a project funded by the Annie Casey Foundation. The Family to Family initiative is an opportunity for states and communities to re-conceptualize, redesign, and reconstruct their child welfare and foster care systems. It is designed to provide and facilitate services in a culturally sensitive and least intrusive manner, support families so that they will succeed, engage in pro-active efforts to prevent abuse and neglect, and provide permanent families for children in a timely manner.
Our History
Epworth United Methodist Church has a rich history of services to the Denver community. In the tradition of the Methodist Church, it serves as a place of worship, a community center, and a resource for humanitarian activities.
Epworth community traditions began when Deaconess Melissa Briggs erected the first mission’s tent and opened Denver’s first community center in 1892. Briggs began a legacy of Christian service that continues today.
