In conjunction with Denver Children’s Home, the East Denver Collaborative sponsors and conducts a number of events throughout the year to build community capacity and gather the community together on behalf of children. Some of these events include:

KIDS Distributions

The Kids in Distressed Situations, KIDS, Foundation headquartered in New York, provides shipments several times a year of new clothing. Denver Children’s Home accepts donations on an ongoing basis and distributes these resources to underprivileged families in Denver using the East Denver Collaborative and Family to Family network. More than $1.8M worth of goods has been distributed to our community through Denver Children’s Home’s partnership with the KIDS Foundation.

Safe Nite

Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008, Safe Nite offers families a community BBQ, basketball game, entertainment, information booths, and activities for kids. The EDC was a sponsor of Safe Nite in 2008.

Back to School Giveaway

To help children get off on the right foot for school, the EDC offers school supplies and backpacks to school aged children in August and September.

Community Toy Giveaway

In December, we work with community partners and numerous donors to provide new toys to families with children.

Generous donations allow us to reach out to families throughout the year. What we receive, we pass on to families and children in need.
